Brandon's Super Bowl XL Preview
Due to the fact that this website is a joke, I'm going to keep this short...not that anyone cares.
Lately it seems that the Super Bowl isn't really about the game itself. In all honesty it seems as if it is just an excuse for idiots to get drunk, say how bad the commercials were this year, and watch halftime shows that don't really make much sense (the Stones in Motown?). But for a small percentage of us, there is still hope. This year's Super Bowl matchup is everything a title game should be, no matter how boring Skip Bayless claims it to be. Representing the NFC, you have the Seattle Seahawks. A team that started off a tad slow, but steamrolled over almost every team it faced on it's way to a top seed in the NFC. Yes, it was against the easiest schedule in the NFL, but how "easy" are games in the NFL anyways? Shaun Alexander won the MVP trophy, but still no one cares because they aren't from New York or Chicago or some other huge market. The Seahawks are a very worthy team, and would make a fine champion, however I just don't think their first trip to the big game will be a success. Instead, I feel that the Steelers are going to walk out of Ford Field victorious. No, I'm not picking them because of the whole "Jerome Bettis's hometown destiny" angle, I'm picking them because there is no team playing better football right now. They took the three top teams in the AFC, all of which could have been victorious in the Super Bowl (OK, minus the Bengals), and made them look like they didn't belong. Year after year, head coach Bill Cowher has had his team ready to play every Sunday, and this Sunday will be no different. I'm not going to get into the X's and O's because I'm not feeling that inspired to write for a site that no one cares about, but at the end of February 5th, 2006, the Steelers will bring back the Lombardi Trophy to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with 31 teams gunning at them in September.
Predicted Score: Pittsburgh Steelers 30, Seattle Seahawks 24.
