No Way Out Recap

No Way Out is typically one of my least favorite events. I feel it just kind of gets in the way of WrestleMania. Last year's event, however, was one of the best single brand pay-per-views since the WWE decided to produce brand exclusive shows. How did this year's event fair? Let's find out.

1. Chris Benoit and The Hardyz vs. MVP and MNM
This match made absolutely no sense. They took the Hardyz and MNM out of the ladder match because they decided they would no longer team together. Then at the last second throw them into a six man tag just to fill up more time. The match was a fun match, but did nothing to tell a story. Don't think I'm complaining that they put Chris Benoit and Matt Hardy on the card, but they could have done it more effectively. Action wise, a good opener.

2. Cruiserweight Open
Well, here's another match that made no sense. Basically, it was just a way to take the belt off of Gregory Helms without making him look bad. They also have nothing worthwhile to do with Chavo, so here he is back in the cruiserweight division. They need to let the cruiserweights work the style they are accustomed to, because there was hardly a difference between this match and any other match throughout the night.

3. Finlay and Little Bastard vs. Boogeyman and Mini Boogeyman
This match was a comedy match, but boy does the Boogeyman get worse each match. I really hope they come to their senses and leave him off the WrestleMania card. Finlay can do much better.

4. Kane vs. King Booker
Booker is still the most entertaining character on WWE television. Having him lose to an aging Kane was a terrible decision. I hope this feud is over.

5. London and Kendrick vs. Deuce and Domino
London and Kendrick are a fun team to watch, but they have no competition. I would love to see them square off against The World's Greatest Tag Team at WrestleMania. Now that would be a tag team match.

6. Mr. Kennedy vs. Lashley
Here's another match that should have never been booked. Both guys are getting pushes, so they put them in a match together with a terrible finish. Mr. Kennedy is one of the favorites for the Money In The Bank match, and hopefully he gets put in that match as opposed to a re-match (even though Lashley may be Donald Trump's representative).

7. Shawn Michaels and John Cena vs. Batista and Undertaker
Well the WWE did make the right decision on this one. You have four faces in the two main events at WrestleMania. Batista's popularity isn't what it once was, who most likely would have been the heel in his match against Undertaker anyways. Batista is much more effective as a tough guy. It also allowed for this match to have a pinfall finish as opposed to a screwy double DQ or some garbage of that nature. Solid match that you would expect from these guys, but not enough to save this show.
